Jason Ford DeTroy is a South African born American professional surfer, musician, singer-songwriter, producer and entrepreneur He was born in Johannesburg South Africa. He moved to Monroe Georgia when he was an infant and lived there until he was ten years old. At ten years old he moved to Dover Massachusetts where he spent the rest of his childhood.  Jason played football and hockey in high school. He was also apart of his high school film and music programs. He had a love for surfing and music since a young age. He learned to surf at age five. He began to take piano lessons at age four and guitar lessons at age eight. He began writing his own songs at age thirteen.  He studied English at Villanova University and helped to start their frisbee golf team. DeTroy Music is an indie record label, they have two locations one in Boston Ma and Another in Nashville Tn. DeTroy Music was founded by cousins, Jason and Rhys DeTroy. Jason and Rhys are both singer songwriters along with being producers. Rhys DeTroy  Jason DeTroy  Jason and Rhys were both born in Georgia. Jason moved to Dover Massachusetts at five years old. Rhys grew up in Monroe, Georgia. Aside from having a passion for music, Jason also has a passion for surfing. At 25 years old he moved to Australia to pursue surfing. He almost went pro before being attacked by a shark while surfing in Byron Bay.
